Collaboration
WISEST (Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science and Technology) is a University of Alberta organization that collaborates with Industry, Government, Academia and a team of over 600 volunteers. We are supported by the University of Alberta and through generous donations from corporations, individuals and the public sector.

We deliver exciting programs and meaningful networks that enhance the attraction, retention and advancement for women of all ages in science, engineering and technology.
Gender Diversity
Our purpose is to strengthen society by increasing gender diversity in the workplace. To this end, we support and encourage both young women and young men to pursue careers non-traditional for their gender.
Necessity
Although we have been pursuing our goals since 1982 and representation of women in science, engineering and technology is most definitely on the rise, a gender balance at decision-making and leadership levels still needs to be reached.
