How to Register

2018 CHOICES Conference registration will open on November 1, 2017

Welcome to the Registration and Event Page for the 2018 CHOICES Conference, we have an amazing conference planned for this coming February 20 & 21, 2018 (8:30 am - 2:30 pm each day).

Registration for the CHOICES Conference is done by schools (teachers or administrators) and NOT by individuals (parents or students). If you are a parent, please note that school administrators throughout the Greater Edmonton Area will be be emailed to inform them when registration for the CHOICES Conference will open, but feel free to encourage them or your child’s grade 6 teacher to apply to come.

There are a limited number of spots available to each school district so register early as registration is based on a “first come-first served”. Note that registration is not considered complete until all forms and payment have been received by the WISEST office.


CHOICES Conference Registration Opens:  November 1, 2017

DEADLINE to receive payment and forms:  December 1, 2017

Due to the high demand for spots, after December 1, any schools with incomplete registrations will forfeit their spots which will be offered to schools on our lengthy waitlist. AVOID disappoint by getting payments and forms submitted early.

WAITLISTED Schools will be contacted:  December 4, 2017

Deadline for Waitlisted schools to send payments and forms: December 22, 2017


Please reference this handy, updated 'Registration Details and Checklist' document to make sure that you know all of the relevant registration information and to ensure that you've completed all the steps.

Step 1 – Request to Attend with School Information

Reserve your students' seats by completing our online CHOICES Conference School Registration: REGISTER HERE 

Please remember which date (February 20 or February 21) you select as your preference. Once we receive this portion of your registration, WISEST will strive to be in contact within 5 business days to confirm if you have received "reserved spots" (which is based on the availability of spaces) or if you have been placed on the "waitlist". We will also confirm your selected date and provide a payment link. If you receive the "reserved spots" email confirmation, you will need to complete STEP 2.

Step 2 - Student Information & Payment

If you have received the "reserved spots" email confirmation, please finalize your registration by completing step 2 (Registration Forms and Payment):

Registration Forms

Download, print, and fill out the 'Step 2 Registration Forms' (available below). Please return these completed forms to WISEST by mail no later than December 1. These forms must be originals (we cannot accept faxed or emailed forms) and must be accompanied with an online payment or cheque.

Please make your payment no later than December 1. With your "reserved spots" email confirmation you will receive a link to the online payment system (which is our prefered method of payment). Please follow the email link to make the payment for the students.

For those schools who would still prefer to pay by cheque, payment can be sent to the WISEST office by the December 1st deadline and please ensure cheques are made out to:  University of Alberta

Each fall, invitations (email) are sent to all elementary schools in Northern Alberta that fall within of one of the following participating school districts:

St. Albert Public School District
Greater St. Albert Catholic Regional Division
Greater North Central Francophone
Parkland School Division

Sturgeon School Division

St. Thomas Acquinas Roman Catholic School Division
Private Charter and Reserve Schools

Please note that there are a limited number of positions available to each school district, so register early!
