CHOICES Volunteer Opportunities

We will need Volunteers for Feb. 20 & 21, 2018!

Volunteer Registration will open in the fall

Science Activity Leader

Who:  Undergraduate, graduate and PhD students, researchers, lab coordinators, industry professionals.

Grade 6 girls build a towerWhat:  This is your chance to direct a hands-on lab activity for grade 6 girls.  Activities should be interactive, engaging and fun!  This is an excellent opportunity for you to share your science, engineering or technology interests with the students and to have a positive influence on a group of girls who are at a critical point in their educational pathway.  Scientific Activity Leaders must communicate with WISEST regularly while coordinating activities and must complete online safety training prior to the CHOICES Conference.

We welcome creative new ideas for scientific activities and we can also provide volunteers with activities used at past CHOICES Conferences and offer to train them.

Campus Ambassador and General Volunteers

Who:  Undergraduate, graduate, PhD and high school students

What:  With over 600 grade 6 girls on campus over a two day period, there is a lot to do at the CHOICES Conference!  Campus Ambassadors assist with escorting groups of students to various activity locations and act as key points of contact for students.  General Volunteers can assist with a variety of duties such as preparation of delegate packages before the conference, event set up and take down, registration and assisting with activity delivery.
